What are the first steps to creating a 2D tile-based game?
There are a few scripts from the asset store that seem pretty useful. The usual, though. Just creating tile based maps. The game "Broforce" has a really nice tile system. It seems awesome. What are the first steps to doing this? More specifically, how can I make a tile system? How can I place blocks? How can I break them?
Topic has been asked many times and it lacks a substantial "question". Please check out the myriad of tuts, vids, previous UA/Forum posts, etc and if you have something specific you need help with, ask.
Um... this is a perfectly valid question. It is completely okay for someone to tell me what I should use to make a tile system. Actually, I've been searching for hours for a tutorial, on the internet, on Unity Answers and on Unity forums. Of course, I can't find one.

and refine your question - "How do I create a game" isn't well suited to UA, post that on Forums where open discussion and design are common.
