How Do I Send Text to Server

Hey there,

I'm trying to put an Issue Reporter in my game, this involves a simple text entry GUI on a button push.

I have the Game side of it done (simple push button, text entry field with submit button).

But I don't know how to submit it to the web side of things (I have never done web development).

I have a web server with an SQL database and FTP Access. I've tried a few tutorials involving sending score to an SQL database with less than ideal results.

Could anybody point me in the right direction?

I think you tryed this tutorial? A used it to lern how to work with things like highscore, name validation etc and everithing is working. So there are just some errors in how you setup your server. So first question is can you execute any php scripts on your web server?

That is the one I tried! Yes! Yeah I managed to get the PHP scripts working with a bunch of SQL query errors. I think that means the PHP scripts worked but there's something wrong with the way i've done the SQL side of things? I just followed the instructions and they don't explain what is going on really. So i'm unsure on how to modify or debug it.

To check if php functionality is ON create this script:

hello.php ?php echo "Hello world!"; ?>

then open your browser and go to "yourdomain/hello.php"

Hey! I just did this and I Just get the code back

Does that mean PHP is not enabled on my webserver? I'm not sure how to turn it on :(

yep, it means that. I had the same problem. What managment system is on the server? On my server it is ISP$$anonymous$$anager.
