Draw call limit to iOS? How to reduce?

Hello, I have a game that is producing over 280 Drawcalls and never skips a beat on my iPhone, however i am wanting to add much more to the game, right now its just simple geometery! Is there any way I could get an idea of how to reduce and what is a good limit to think about?

Daniel

I forgot to mention that UnityGUI is a huge Hog of drawcalls. I recommend finding alternatives.

Each GUI element causes a draw call. (If you are using GUILayout ins$$anonymous$$d of the GUI class, then double that.)

Reducing DrawCalls means reducing materials and textures. Multiple object having the exactly same material can be batched together. A way to achieve this is to create a texture atlas. Following post recommends a draw call limit of 20: http://www.cratesmith.com/archives/183 Here is another answer to that question: http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/14578/whats-the-best-way-to-reduce-draw-calls.html
