Question by heidijo10 · Feb 15, 2014 at 09:58 PM · 3d modelsgamespick up object

How to make 3d models solid.

I had exported some models that I created through Google sketch up. When I place it onto terrain I made my player just walks through the building and wont go up a set of stairs that are on it. How do I change that?

  1. Click on the object

  2. On the top taskbar click on "Component"

  3. Go down to "physics"

  4. Click on "mesh collider"

Note; sometimes with 3d models, when put into unity it will actually be lots of different sections, in the Hierarchy section, look at where the imported model is listed, if it has a little arrow to the left, click on it, it should then drop down. At this point, highlight all the "new" objects and follow the steps above, if you need help with this email me. liam.battle@outlook.com good look :)

...and, maybe read over some of the "How to start using Unity" stuff. It should fill you in on lots of other basic concepts.

Solution : 1 ADD COLLIDERS. Mesh colliders, box colliders, sphere colliders,...

If you do not know these basic solutions, please refer to the Documentation on the Unity Website.

Note : It might also be a problem with the mesh itself. Have you tried any other programs like Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, etc?
