Question by Jesus_Freak · Oct 25, 2010 at 06:47 PM · animationparentingvehiclelink

how can i make a player get in a vehicle?

or how to become the vehicle when you come near it and hit "i"

i know it has something to do with parenting, but i dont know how or what that means. could i get a link to a tutorial, or a script reference, or a forum on this topic?

if it's not asking too much, could someone give me an idea of what to put in a script?

please help!

This question has been asked and answered a number of times. This question: http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/13190/getting-in-a-vehicle has answers that link to three other similar questions.

You don't need to write "solved" in the title; that's what the checkmark is for.

you'll need triggers round the vehicle and a script that will turn on/off different scripts and activate different GameObjects so you can control things separately. It's rather complicated, I'd get into the basics of scripting first before you do anything major.

Also, the link burnumd gave you is a good start.
