Internal Compiler error...What happened?!
Here is what the console.log gave me after I tried to make a script:
Internal compiler error. See the console log for more information. output was: Unhandled Exception: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "C:\Users\Chukwuka\Documents\New Unity Project\Temp\Assembly-CSharp-Editor.dll.mdb" is denied.
at System.IO.FileStream..ctor (System.String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, Boolean anonymous, FileOptions options) [0x00000] in :0
at System.IO.FileStream..ctor (System.String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, Boolean isAsync, Boolean anonymous) [0x00000] in :0
All I did was open up a c# script to edit and that popped...please help!
Did some searching for you, an antivirus or firewall might be the problem. $$anonymous$$cAfee was mentioned by name.
Another tip was to run as ad$$anonymous$$istrator. And check file and folder permission.

Search for System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path unity3d for more results
I get that too. I do not know how to eli$$anonymous$$ate it completely, but I know how to make it disappear: In monodevelop you can comment any line that will not cause a compiler error when commented, compile, click anywhere in unity, comile again. See me do it in this tutorial (around 3:00).
I would also very much know how to eli$$anonymous$$ate it completely.
Preinstalled $$anonymous$$cAfee was causing the exact same issue for me. Uninstalled that garbage immediately.

This worked for me as well. I initially tried following the steps for disabling both the file scan and network components of mcafee - but I still had the same problem. Went through the uninstall and restarted my computer and I was back in business.
