Must SSAO effect works for Android and iOS?
I turn on SSAO image effect in my app. When I run app on my mac it works fine and I see effect, but if I run on the device (Nexus 7 or iPad Air) effect doesn`t work. Unity don`t give me any warnings or notification (although I don`t know where to look may be), it just doesn`t apply SSAO effect.
I understood how I can see android log. There is string - "D/Unity (17991): Unsupported: Hidden/SSAO" in the log. Why? Hardware support: "$$anonymous$$obile: OpenGL ES 2.0 with depth texture support". It is written here http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Components/script-SSAOEffect.html. Anybody help me please.
You want to waste processing power to achieve what is wrong with every badly shaded tattoo and amateur charcoal portrait? On mobile? If any scene looks significantly better with SSAO, it's only because it had very poor lighting / texture design to begin with. Turn off SSAO and forget it exists; problem solved.
I am not going to use it in real time. I want be able to make beautiful snapshots for my scene. And I need to have this feature using android and ios device directly. So I want to use image effects.
