DirectX 12 Support

Can't seem to find anything on this. Have checked the Roadmap and sniffed around generally, but all info I can find is very old (2015 stuff).

The Unity blog says that dx12 support was due by the launch of Windows 10 in the early version 5 builds - well over a year ago now.

As a VR developer, the lauded performance boosts (sometimes even referred to as being like a free hardware upgrade) is a really big deal and could enable content that is not really feasible at the moment without lots of reprojection etc.

Do we have any up to date info re. what's going on here?

This is the best I could find.

https://steamcommunity.com/app/358720/discussions/0/343785380898819071/?l=swedish

"Unity 5.4 uses DirectX 11 by default. You have to uncheck the "Auto Graphics API" for Windows in Edit -> Project Settings -> Player & put DirectX 12 at the top for it to be used. If you try using the native OpenVR SDK with DirectX 12 at the top of the API list & a Vive, you'll run into a problem."

It´s weird nonetheless that Unity hasn´t been vocal about its support.
