Continuous Trial Extension

So, I'm an indie game developer and I'm looking to expand my abilities via the Unity3D framework.

What I want to do is to be able to say I am proficient (enough to sell games) in developing games in Unity3d before having my boss buy a license. I can only imagine that this would take more than 30 days to achieve.

I'm not opposed to buying a license, but I personally wouldn't be able to afford it. On top of that, I want to run it on linux via wine (winehq has some positive usage), so there might be more hangups that I'd have to deal with.

I know I could ask the unity team to extend my trial, but I'd prefer to have an uninterruped development workflow that I can depend on while I learn the framework.

I have never used Unity3D, but after seeing Guns of Icarus Online, I would very much like to learn the framework.

This isn't really the right place to ask this question - but I would suggest this:

  • Develop using the features of Unity Free until you prove your point

  • Tell your boss about all of the extra things you can do when you have Pro (if you indeed need them).

I don't see a question in there anywhere.

UA is for specific technical questions - the forum can be used to debate things - you are very unlikely to get any kind of extension however.

I'm going to guess at what your question is: you want some way to get a Unity license without paying $1500.

Please look at Studica and see if you would be eligible for any of the student or other reduced price licenses.

$$anonymous$$y apologies, I realize now I didn't ask a question.

I was looking for a way to get a Unity3d 4 license that was good for learning.

Julien guessed right, a student license is exactly what I needed!
