How do I make character collision detection accurate ?

Hey, I'm just working on a 2d game as a hobby, and I'm a beginner. Now using the character controller( pill ), didn't turn out well for me. Here's my sprite

What should I use if I want the collisions to be accurate ? Thanks, for your time

For colliders, check which you're looking for with your collider: are you looking to detect damage on your hero? Or are you colliding with power-ups?

Depending on the case, you want to always be in favor of the player: 'Capsule' is a fine collider, but if you're going to take damage, make sure the collider is just a bit smaller than the overall character.
