Android joystick & character movement script

For Android: Hi all! I'm having two problems problems working with Unity3D for Android. My project objective is to make my character move in the for cardinal directions on my scene. Thats it. So here are my two problems.

1: creating the a PlayerMovement script for the cardinal directions.

2: Getting the touchpad controllers to show (also linking the touchpad and PlayerMovement to respond during testing.
