Developing a 2D flying game similar to Retry by Rovio.
First post here on the forums so sorry for any mistakes.
I'm trying to develop a flying game, dogfighting-like gameplay. The mechanics are similar to flappy bird except with fuel, bullets, health and bombs.
My problem is trying to get the planes movement and control perfected. I want to press a button which makes the planes pitch go up while accelerating, if the button is held long enough the plane should complete a loop the loop. If the button is no longer pressed the pitch should go down and the plane should plummet after a short while.
Every time I think I understand Quaternions and Euler angles it starts to go completely wrong!
I want to make the flying mechanic very simialr to Rovio's game Retry.
