New to unity. Using cinema 4D to export FBX files of models. Huge poly count causing hangs and crashes.
SO, im fairly new to unity and i made some basic models in cinema 4d. However when i imported them to unity ( after exporting them from cinema 4D as an FBX file ) i got some weird ahng time and eventually crashes. Thought it was abit strange so i did my best to figure out what it was. Turns out my models are around 600k polys. If i try and reduce the ammount of poly's in the model the deformers i have used get skewed and look ridiculous so that didnt look like it was possible. However i made it work. I made all my boole and loft nurb objects editable. ( Havent Baked the items in place yet as im looking into how) But the poly count actually went up.. its now at 682173 so 682k poly's... if i had a polygon reduction deformer it makes it look like ( see images below) this..
Screenshots include - 682k poly count + what model looks like and after using polygon reduction deformer... 72 poly!? and what it looks like

Sorry for my lack of knowledge

Well, 1, this has not much to do with Unity. 2, there isn't even a question here.
