Question by progmeer · Jan 23, 2014 at 02:11 AM · androidiospro

If I buy Unity Pro and not Android pro, will I have a watermark on my android builds?

I want to purchase the Pro version of Unity but can't get the Andorid Pro yet. Will my Android(or iOS or Windows Store) builds have the splashscreen or watermark on them?

Is there a way to get rid of the "development build" watermark when publishing to Android? I'm using a $$anonymous$$ac, and unchecking the development build box does not get rid of the watermark. Thanks!

@janlucvd: What you've posted is not an answer. If you want to ask a question, well, "ask a question" and don't "post your answer".

This question was about using Unity pro without android pro which is simply not possible. If you want to use Unity pro on android you have to buy Unity pro + android pro.

If you have Unity Pro you can use Pro features for Windows, OSX, Linux, and WinPhone builds. However, you won't be able to use any Pro features in Android/iOS builds without also having the appropriate Android/iOS Pro add-on.

So, for those builds you'll be limited to the Free features set, and you'll get the same "Made with Unity" logo that all Unity Free users get.

There will be no watermark on the game itself though. Only the 30 day pro trial has a watermark.

This is the correct answer. I got back from the support $$anonymous$$m and they said the same thing. Thank you tanoshimi and everyone who gave their input.

Looking at the Unity store page, the license comparison chart for Android Pro mentions the ability the use a custom splash screen. In practice, I'd go to Unity Technologies sales contacts for a definitive answer on this sort of question.
