Importing multiple takes from Maya via FBX, Unity 5, how
I have googled all around this, and so many results are old. It's May 2015 as I write this, and I still don't see a clear answer on this: I have a model in Maya with 7 separate animation clips. When I export as FBX, and import to Unity, it gives me ONE clip: Take 001. It has all my clips merged into it (not sequentially). Yet the docs indicate that some way, it can import a list of clips. How is this done? I have Maya 2015 as far as I can tell it's up to date What settings/process in Maya, what settings/process in Unity? Thanks
I Never got it working with $$anonymous$$aya 2015 either. $$anonymous$$aya 2016 has the Game Exporter and a "Send to Unity" Option. Don't know whether it was the Game Exporter or "send to Unity", but one of these was able to send them as multiple clips.
Give it a try.
Check @Sylker's post. That's how i do it was well with $$anonymous$$aya. I just cut the animation into the clips i want in Unity itself.

You can split your animation into separate clips in Unity. You have to select the file in the Project view and go to the Animations area in Inspector. You should be able to add more clips using the plus button in the Clips area and define the start and end keyframes.
