Monodevelop doesnt start even though its selected
Im new to unity and tried doing the ball tutorial and when i open a script it opens it in visual studio 2012 instead of monodevelop. How do i make it open with monodevelop?
yep its been there from the start, it just goes to visual studio ins$$anonymous$$d of monodevelop
If haven't tried, add monodevelop again, path could be wrong, so unity opens the next option..
Apparently, you select $$anonymous$$onoDevelop as the External Script Editor in Preferences/External Tools, but when you open a script it opens it in visual Studio. I used to get that all the time with previous versions of Unity, but now it seems to have been fixed.
So, are you using the latest version of Unity?
Also, many times, I set the Preferences to Visual Studio and $$anonymous$$onoDevelop opens...
The only work around I have found is to switch the Preferences to the other editor temporarily, open a script, then close the editor, change the Preferences to the editor I want again, and finally the correct editor opens. $$anonymous$$aybe it takes 2-3 times to open the correct editor.
I tried browsing and going into unity folder then mono folder then bin and mono.exe but when i try to start a script it just flashes an error and fails ...
