Are Unity Store Purchases Permanent?
Hi, I recently downloaded Unity, and am really loving it, and I wish to buy some assets from the Unity store. I want to get PlayMaker, which will set me back $65, and was just wondering whether or not I get free lifetime updates after the purchase or not? And if so, is this a blanket statement for all extensions on my account? Thanks Dasttann777

Section 8.2 of the Asset Store EULA states "Licensor may at its own discretion from time to time provide upgrades of the Assets to END USER without requesting further payment. Irrespective hereof END-USER is only entitled to licenses to upgrades if END-USER has entered into an Upgrade Agreement with Licensor."
So, no. Unless Playmaker's publisher explicitly states that you're entitled to lifetime free updates, you're not.
Just want to make clear the "no" was on the "free Upgrades" question. Purchases are permanent of course. If you buy a car, that car belongs to you for the rest of your life, but it usually don't include an "upgrade" contract so if the company releases a new version you don't get that for free.
There are some things on the Assetstore where the creator gives you free updates, but mostly, just like Unity, for a certain major version.
