Cannot copy, select or paste in TextField on Android

I have a GUI.TextField that i would like the user to be able to paste into. However, when i try to do this on Gingerbread, the android keyboard options show for a few milliseconds, and then the keyboard closes. Is there a way to work around this? Cheers!
