iOs Addon is really needed?

Question

Is that addon REALLY needed for developing iPhone apps? Unity says I need a MAC to build an App but it does not say anything about an Addon.

Yes, it's really needed if you want to produce iPhone apps using Unity. If it wasn't needed, why would they bother to sell it?

They sell it because it offers more productivity - look at the features list
