Full Gui-Based user interface memory leak

Hi

I'm creating a web game (so everything I'm talking about is for the unity webplayer).

I've made a system wich instantiate an whole Graphic user interface from reading a xml file and loading some png on a web server. It works great, I can have events, dynamic content etc... and my main unity is only 2 mo. (NB : I ony use GuiTexture and GuiLabel)

But, I'm not fully satisfied

  • My game use 300mo in RAM (original PNG are only 3 mo). Not all my original pics are power of 2. So I tried to make power of textures and use the compress method. I Indeed gain some mo, but the quality was very crappy ! I don't realy know what else I can do to improve the memory usage... I'm right if I said that I can't use a format different from ARGB32 ? (all the pictures contains alpha).

  • I think I have a memory leak. If I run my game in the editor (memory usage is 250 mo) and when I stop the game, the memory usage as increase to 350 mo ! (after a day of work, it's around 1go5 ...). Any idea ? Is there any tool (like the profiler) that can be usefull to try to find where it can come from ?

Thanks a lot !
