Issue with MonoDevelop not opening. Ideas?
I have tried everything I can think of. I have this issue where whenever I try to open MonoDevelop, it will look like it's loading and opening, and then will suddenly crash and close without any explanation. This happens when double clicking a script as well as just when trying to open MonoDevelop by itself. I've tried updating, uninstalling and reinstalling, and have had no luck. Any ideas?
Go to Edit -> Prefernces -> External Tools -> External Scipt Editor.
There select the option browse and manually go to the path where monodevelop is installed.
In windows I have it at "C:\Program Files\Unity\$$anonymous$$onoDevelop".
Dont select the $$anonymous$$ono Develop (built-in) option. Hope it helps (:
if you are using mac pc then you have to give permission to monodevelop
go to application->open unity ->rit click on mono develop ->show package content ->rit click on Contents->get info sharing and permission change read to read/write and apply
For windows use "digzou" approach .
this does not work. Followed every step and $$anonymous$$onoDevelop still will not open; it bounces a few times and then stops. I gave permission for every user to read & write, but nothing changes.
