First person with visible bodyparts
Hey everyone!
I'm working on a fps project and I want to control a character using the First person controller. However I want to have a hand visible next to the character. So I wonder if it's hard to construct something like that for a newbie or if it's way too advanced.
Sincerly

You will need to have a 3D model of your characters arm/hand. Then you place the 3D model of the characters arm/hand as a child of the character controller's camera. For added realism, you could animate the hand to simulate idle movement using your favorite 3D software (3dsMax, Maya, etc). If you are not a 3D artist, find one.

there may be resources for this if you check the unity resources section, not checked myself but i'm sure there is. however. if there isn't you can always download the FP arms from the epics UDK forums to use as a reference. If you think about how a FP cam is set up (view wise) animating a hand is quite simple. there'll be a great many tutorials depending on your modelling software that you can google for hand and arm modelling it being a prerequisite for pro 3d modellers so no worries there. animating the hand can be rather more complicated depending on the complexity of movement and modelling software you use. Not an impossible task for a newbie but has the potential to get complicated depending on your project.
I'll be sure to check out the forum! thanks for the help =)
