My MonoDevelop doesn't show compiler errors.
I just installed Unity, and my MonoDevelop doesn't show any compiler errors. I try to run a script and get told I have errors, but the MonoDevelop script has no red lines, nothing shows up in the error log on the bottom of the screen. Other IDEs like Eclipse, Netbeans, or VisualStudio will highlight syntax errors as you go with red lines, like spellcheck. How do I get MonoDevelop to do that? It's really difficult to get any major work done, especially since I'm not completely familiar with C#.

It should be doing basic syntax checking and underlining. You can also turn on source analysis in preferences which will do a lot more.
You can refer to the Console in unity and double click on errors to go to the source in question. I always have the console window visible.
You can build your project in MD, though personally I prefer the "let Unity build it and check the console" approach myself.
