Cannot create 2D object with repeating texture
Hi, unity newbie here.
I am trying to create a 2D gameobject that I can resize without affecting the scale of the pattern within it.
For example, I want a game object to represent a body of water that renders a specific pattern. If I were to make another body of water somewhere else, I would like to duplicate it, resize it, and place it on another part of the scene without affecting the scale of the rendered pattern of the water.
I thought that creating a texture with "wrap mode: repeat" was the general direction to accomplish this. I have tackled this for a few hours now trying things such as directly using the texture as a sprite, creating a material out of the texture, etc, and am completely stumped.
Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks
