Unity closes when some object and added

i have a similar problem. i upgraded to unity 4.2 and since then every time i try to select an item in the hierarchy unity crashes. also when i try to add something simple like a cube to a new scene it crashes aswell. i have uninstalled unity 3 times and reinstalled it and all my updates are done. also i have sent a bug report to unity. just waiting for an answer for now im just going to install the old version which means i wont be able to use my old project because i opened it in unity 4.2 but not too bothered as i wos only doing tutorials anyway.
Why are you people downvoting? It happens with the new unity 4.2 whenever you try to select something it'll crash, so does when adding objects too.
Yes, I'm having this problem too. I upgraded my project, and checked it into my repository before I realized this was happening. Argh. Well, at least I can check out an older version after uninstalling 4.2... I just have to figure out what new code I've written since then! It's hard to imagine how this bug slipped out the gates.
