Need help with vertex painting in Blender
I know this is something to post on a Blender Forum. It took me 3 months to finally get my username to work and now there was an error posting my question.
Sorry for the whining. Here is my problem.
I am just having a problem learning vertex painting in Blender. The image, which I think is from Maya or Max, shows two things I need to do.
First I need to paint the whole mesh using the painting gradient reversed, which I know how to do. What I can not do is put the mesh in a wire frame mode to paint through all the planes so I do not have unpainted planes behind.
Second I need to assign specific vertex color in edit mode. I know you can select faces in vertex painting mode but I need to select vertices to paint. Just like the bottom picture in the image.
Thanks guys.
In blender you can go to wireframe mode with z button. And you can choose face selection, edge selection and vertice selection with ctrl+tab
I know how to do that is edit mode the problem I'm having is in vertex mode.
Thanks for commenting so quickly.
I see, I hoped it will work. To be hones I never paint in blender, only use it to model and create UVs. If i'll bump into a solution I'll post it.
In vertex mode when you press z it shows you the lines but you can't paint through. ctrl+tab switches to weight paint mode.
I never tried vertex painting in blender. This is my first try and it's tricky. Regular texture painting is easy to learn because the options do something. In vertex painting there are very few options that don't do anything. Very frustrating.
I'm still looking around too. Thanks for your help gajdot.
