Cubes and Game performance...
I recently heard someone say that "cube style art" in Unity is an inefficient way of placing game objects as it increase draw calls and slows performance down. My question is, say someone makes a 2D game and uses the basic Unity Cube but has the renderer enabled to "Sprite" so that 2D images are displayed rather than the cube's geometry, will performance still be bad? Also, what exactly is a draw call, just so I'm clear on it...
It would be useful to know when I start working on larger scale projects, thanks.
