Platform moves when character steps on it
I have a moving platform script which i have gained from doing a tutorial online and works fine but i would like it to move when the character touches the platform.
MovingPlatform Script:

This has been killing me for last week and unsure how to go about it. I know it will be a true or false but unsure on the scripting reference for character within the script.

maxamount and step are not initialized, they are defined but they never get a value. Vert is boolean with default value (false) so if(vert) will never trigger.
The moving platform script works fine and is perfect.
I'm just trying to get it so when the character walks on the platform the script turns on.
