Forum Bug: Spammers posts not being deleted!
check out this spammer, he was obviously banned but his posts all remain on the forum! admin should have a button for"ban and remove posts".
http://answers.unity3d.com/users/14516/sdfwefwef.html
for example in my exiting thread here! http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/155754/combine-mesh-in-parent-on-instantiate-a-code-examp.html
I'm on it ;) but i can't watch all posts 7/24. If i spot such a post is usually go to the users page and report and delete all spam posts. Unfortunately i can't ban ppl but i think no user should have this power (beside ad$$anonymous$$s). Vote for ban would be nice ;) Even delete should be a vote-for-delete imho.
yes, we are currently debating spam and other issues of the unityanswers-page on threads tagged meta (I added it to this question; if you click it you will find a lot of talk on these topics...)
Genius, Bunny! I didn't think of going to the profile...! I'll do that too, in the future... but won't deleting the posts take away all possibility for others to report said user...? O.o hrm... sub-optimum either way... scratches her head
@Sister$$anonymous$$y: Yes, it takes away the possibility for others because the answer isn't listed any more. However, i always report them first and then mark them as deleted. The answer is still there and if you have the direct link it still can be viewed and the deletion can be reverted. I'm not sure where the spam-reports go at the end, but i hope someone sees them ;)
I'm not sure if it helps much but i've often deleted the spam posts just a couple of $$anonymous$$s after they has been posted and hopefully hasn't been catched by google but that's only possible when you discover the spammer fast enough and that's just luck ;)
@Bunny83 Well, that was not quite my point... I had been under the impression that if enough people report someone, the respective account is banned and his/her posts are auto-deleted, so deleting the post by hand removes the possibility to amass enough reports to clean that user up 'mechanically'... (but then again... I may be completely mistaken; maybe it has be your or other people's diligent work?! O.o ... would be really great if qato-to-userbase-communication were improved and they could just tell us what's going on... T-T)
