Request: Advice on delving into "Procedurally Generated Content(PGC)". C# 2D Unity

Hello! This is a rather broad question that probably has many answers, and that is exactly what I want! I need experience in this, I have no idea how to go about scripting my own engine for this, but I one code is most likely very unique and tailor made for the game it applies to, so there is no use for me looking around copying small bits and pieces, I feel.

Would you like to share a good source on learning how to do PGC? I just want to learn and educate myself, because it is truly something i want to accomplish for my game(s). Anything from articles, tutorials, e-books, you name it!

The game I'm working on now is a 2D top-down twinstick controlled game, just for an idea if you can specify what I should look for.

Btw, I hope this is an ok post for Unity.Answers! :) Cheers!

I posted the same question on the sub-reddit "Gamedev". The response was great! For anyone interested, here is the outcome of that:

You can take a look at;

ACM : http://dl.acm.org/results.cfm?h=1&source_query=&&cfid=456715288&cftoken=98315248 and Google Scholars : http://scholar.google.co.uk/scholar?hl=en&q=Procedurally+Generated+Content&btnG=&as_sdt=1%2C5&as_sdtp=

If you haven't already.
