How can I save a webcam recording to a video file in Unity?
Right now I am able to actually start my webcam to work but I will actually need to record the webcam the moment it started and save the recording as a video file. Does anyone have any idea how can I actually do this?

Save yourself a lot of time and trouble and get this: http://www.renderheads.com/portfolio/UnityAVProMovieCapture
That records the game screen, OP is trying to record a video from a devices actual camera.
Like a phone.
I'm also interested in this.
I have this plugin, and I used it for recording the webcam feed on pc builds, then subsequently played back those recordings on a rendertexture. Has support for realtime codec compressions too
@JChilton:
Hmm, is it possible that they seperated the webcam feature into this seperate plugin? If that feature is part of the $$anonymous$$ovieCapture plugin they did a bad job at advertising it since they did not mention it in the feature list.
I'd have to dig into the project to see if it's valid, but I have two of their plugins. It could be entirely possible they stripped the feature out and launched it as that separate entity, and I may just have an old version, I'm not certain. iirc,
For Capture I used: http://www.renderheads.com/portfolio/UnityAVPro$$anonymous$$ovieCapture/
For Playback I used: http://www.renderheads.com/portfolio/UnityAVProWindows$$anonymous$$edia/
I don't think linking a plugin you must pay for counts as answering the question.
Regardless, Those plugins appear to be windows only, why isn't there an easy way to record from a video camera on android/iphone?

I needed the same functionality and found AVPro Live Camera plugin as a separate product: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/3683
