Question by CLstream · Feb 16, 2013 at 04:26 AM · pickupitemhorrornightmare

I'm making a horror game and I need help with item pickup

Heres how it will work.

The names of the items required: Player, soda, and BED

Events: The player will spawn beside the bed and is required to find soda in a kitchen room. When Player clicks on it, soda will disappear, allowing the player to go back to BED by going back to his room and clicking on BED. Player will be transported to another level that I will call "dream1"

I'm not good it scripting on my own and I need someone else to do it for me!

Unity Answers isn't to get people to write code for you, it's to help you with issues you run across while writing your own code. I'd suggest you take a look at:

How Can I start Learning Unity Fast

If you are really adverse to scripting on your own I'd suggest either finding a friend who can do that part for you. I think there are also some more basic game creation tools that require less coding (I don't use any so can't help you there).

facepalm

Like I said, I'm not good at my own scripts and have to use help from other people or youtube.

Well you are basically asking someone to write a game for you (for free) which is a far cry from help. It shows no initiative to learn. It's way too open and broad a question and is actually many questions in one (implied how to make player spawn, how to move player, how to have an item react to a click, how to allow or not allow something until an event has occurred etc). If you check the FAQ you are supposed to ask one question at a time.

Each of those individual questions have been answered many times before and simple searching will find them for you. If you get something working then have problem or get stuck (e.g. pop is receiving click but not sure how to prevent player from leaving kitchen until then).. ask that in its own question.

You can wait around and see if anyone else will answer your "question" (i.e. code your game for you), but it's doubtful. You could also post in the forum and see if anyone is willing to write your game for you (since that's what you're actually asking for).
