Can someone help me with a horror game objective?

Hi, I am creating a horror game and so far I only have jumpscares. The main objective is to collect a certain amount of items to complete the game. I know this is a generic sort of objective but that is all I can come up with at the moment. I would like to incorporate some sort of puzzle solving element to the game but I don't know how. this is my first game and I don't know much scriptting. Can anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks
