Upgrade from Windows 8 to 8.1 killed my Unity editor
I had a Unity project under Windows 8 that ran fine. Once I upgraded to Windows 8.1, whenever I run Unity it opens the last project I had open then a pop up with "Unity Editor has stopped working" appears.
I've tried a lot of the suggestions posted on other forums but none of them work. I'm running Unity on a laptop using Intel HD4000 graphics.
It would be nice if Unity offered a little info why it crashed.
Have you tried opening a different Project or creating a new one? (To see the project selection dialog, press ALT before Unity starts to load the last project)

Pafla,
Thanks for the tip. I was able to open a different project but the directional lighting was not working. When I switched to another scene, Unity would crash again.
Using Unity command line arguments does allow me to open the project:
Works: -force-opengl
Doesn't work (default): -force-d3d9
Works: -force-d3d11
When I run Unity with -force-opengl or -force-d3d11 I get a lot of stutter with my player. Didn't happen with Windows 8.
