Are Lens flares broken or am I doing it wrong?
I have a spotlight with a lens flare on it. I've tried it with the component and without, the flare layer is on, the strength is maxed out, and try as I might, I can't get the flare to show up! I've tried it with all other types of lights to no avail- I haven't seen a bunch of people complaining about this on the forums sooo I'm assuming I must be missing something very simple. Any suggestions? Thank you very much!

I followed the instructions here to the T.
oh, and I've tried disabling all the colliders that could possibly be interfering.

Figured it out! For some reason the flare texture came unassociated from its asset. Reset that and works like it should. Thanks for the help anyway!
I was going to mention that if you were still having problems, that is usually the last thing I do, glad you solved it.
This is an old post but I just had this problem in 2018.3. For anyone who might have the same issue -- I exported a bunch of assets from a previous project (including my flares). When I imported them to my new project the flares in the asset folder were missing their textures. $$anonymous$$anually reimporting standard assets fixed it.

Try disabling the collider. (Flare does not go through collider)
Make sure there is a flare Layer in your main camera. (Flare is off when disabled)
Resizse your flare size. (Can't see flare if its too small)
Thank you for the answer- I've tried all of those and unfortunately the flare is still not visible.
Try new scene for a test, create new sphere, add Lens flare, disable collider. $$anonymous$$ove Sphere to 0,0,0 Transform. Add Galaxy Flare Type or something similar. Thats what I did, you should have same results.
