Can the GameKit plugin establish BlueTooth communication between MacOS and iOS?

I recently started to work with the GameKit plugin. What I would like to achieve is to develop an Unity App that runs on MacOS, which can communicate over Bluetooth with an Unity App running on an iOS device. When I try to compile the GameKit example code for the Mac platform, it nags about a parsing error.

Anybody who has tried something similar before? Is the thing I am trying to achieve possible at all using the GameKit plugin?
