Beast Lightmap fails silently, just baking terrain
Im using unity 4.2 and im trying to bake the terrain. i have made my terrain and directional lightmap static. when i launch bake, it looks like its baking but the process fails without an error. i just see the process (beast) going away from the process list in task manager. any ideas how i can find out whats happening
This is an old thread, but I'm seeing something similar almost a year later. Baking a scene with a fairly big terrain with a fair number of objects (trees, plants and such) as well as a few static building and props. I leave it running and come back to find no lightmaps and no errors. But I just tried a test on an empty terrain and a cubmap, and it seem to work fine. Unfortunately trial and error isn't easy on the real level because it takes so long to bake (or attempt to bake). Any suggestions would be very welcome!
I have the same issue. The scene isn't even particularly large and only takes 7 $$anonymous$$utes to bake, and then the "Baking Texture" progress bar completes, there is simply no change to the scene, nothing happens and no texture is created.
There are no terrains, just unlit lightmapped textures waiting to receive info. I've been through every mesh looking for 2nd UVs that are flipped or overlapping, but no errors there. Not sure where to look now, would love some direction.
Edit: I baked this scene a dozen times before without any issue, but now the beast is failing on other scenes too. I can't find a correlation between the scenes that are failing to bake.
