Office Building Lighting

Hello all! I just started using Unity (and writing code) a week and a half ago, and so far I have:

First person, run through X number of randomly generated hallways at Y speed. After X hallways, you can choose to enter an elevator or jump out the window. if you jump out the window, the game's over. If you enter the elevator, you turn around, the doors close, you go down a floor. You are then on the next floor running at Y+1 speed, and this happens for ten floors. You can move left and right and jump.

I'm pretty happy with how the game feels and controls and whatnot, but I really for the life of me can't figure out how to put the lighting together to look like the fluorescent lighting in an office building, the kind that comes from two fluorescent tubes in a rectangular light fixture. I tried using cookies, but that ended up throwing all kinds of weird shadows on the wall. And then, even when I set up spotlights in such a way that they look OK, the look lame in movement, and the lighting never seems to work out to look like what I've described.

If anyone has any information that they think might be useful, that would be awesome and amazing of you. Thanks!
