How to use multiple Unity materials on external meshes
This is a rather basic question, and I'm not too sure this is the best place to ask it, but I'm wondering how in a 3D modeling program such as blender, can you texture a model, but when importing it into unity, use unity materials with the standard shader. Even for modeling environments and buildings where you would use seamless, repeating textures, It would be great to use multiple unity materials on the same model.
Any help would be great.
It depends on the 3d modelling application you use and it's not related to Unity. You will have to use something like a $$anonymous$$ulti-Sub-Object $$anonymous$$aterial (that's waht it's called in 3D Studio $$anonymous$$ax), effectively an array of materials. Each slot corresponds to a material number which you will have to set for each face of the model.
