In NotificationServices, how do I know when the token was received/denied?

I want to be notified when the user approved or disapproved my push notification request so I know when to send the token to our server. When polling the DeviceToken, I can find out when the user approved but not when he cancelled and I don't want to continuously poll for the deviceToken if it got rejected. Other than writing a native plugin, any idea how to do it?
