Large object texturing.

I have created a base level in blender and it has many vertices. My problem is that I want to apply a texture to it but it just changes to the color of the texture or its REALLY getting stretched out. Any ideas on how I can get my texture to show up correctly?

The answer is you need to UV map your level correctly in Blender.
