3D Text Font performance
I need some advice or alternative font suggestion for my 3D Text
The 3D Text is a digital font displaying the speed of the vehicle. The performance in terms of frame rate is shocking when using any other font other than Arial.
I really would like to have that digital font, but as the frame rates go down it's seemingly a non-starter to use that font. Is there an alternative font that comes close to a digital font without affecting performance?
On the off-chance... or is there a tweak in Unity where I can retain performance with any font?
The component uses a mesh that draws flat faces for each letter where the uv-coordinates extracts different positions from a texture onto them. The method is the same for all fonts, something has to be significantly wrong with the particular font you're using or some setting at import. Sounds fishy, check the size of the font texture, mostly 1024x1024 is more than enough.
