Physics based combat reactions merged with animations?
I'm looking for a purchasable asset, function, tutorial, or any kind of starting point to start using/understanding physics-influenced animations in my game.
What's the best way to have a set animation (say a defensive, attack-ready animation), hit the shield or armor of an enemy in that animation, and let physics control the interaction between the weapon and part hit without destroying or significantly interfering with the overall animation? Could a weight be assigned to the weapon so heavier weapons would have a more drastic effect?
I have found two assets on the asset store that seem, prima facie, to be what I'm after. Since I'm completely new to the world of physics, I'd appreciate some advice about which one, if either these assets, will help me do what I'm after. Also, if you know of any good assets, tutorials, or functions, please let me know.
