iPhone gets heated pretty quickly

Hello!

My game is almost finished, but the device gets pretty hot when I am testing the game. What could reduce the heating and what could be causing it?

Thanks in advance!

Check Unity's profiler to see what is using the cpu the most. It could really be a lot of things, your question is too wide without more info. It could be shaders, it could be that you are pooling a sensor too many times, it could be lots of things including unity. There was a bug in one of the previous builds that kept the cpu from sleeping if i remember correctly for Android.

What kind of game is it?

A 3D racing game. I thought that there would be some kind of specific thing to look for when the device heats up.

Well it's the chip working a lot. But it could be a lot of things making that chip go into overdrive. The profiler will show you what is eating up your cycles. Btw, is the whole case or screen getting hot (could be the backlight) or is it a spot on the case, where the CPU should be?

A magic button? :/ if you don't profile it, how will you know what is the thing that takes up the cpu time?

If you force it on $$anonymous$$etal, it will only work on devices with an A7 processor and later.

Have you ever played a high-end PC computer game, like a triple-A shooter? You know how on the highest graphics settings, the fan starts blasting hot air like crazy, and pretty soon the frame-rate drops to 7fps? And you know the fix? Lower the graphics settings to draw fewer models, less detail, skip particle effects, turn off reflections and fancy water; disable some of your AddOns ... ; try different combinations ...

Overheating is a known problem, and it always means you're working the poor processor too hard (PC, cell phone ... ) just in general. And the solution is always to not-do-that, by thinking of stuff you can cut out or simplify.
