What happen to unused mesh component?

For example, If I have a procedural mesh (no asset) with tangent and UV2 (for lightmap) but I don't use them in the assigned material, will they be automatically removed when the game is built?

I remember reading a post somewhere from Aras that all the unused component are removed, but I'm not sure I remember correctly and I can't find that post.
