Making an NPOT background parallax on IOS

I have an image, 180 x 128, that i want to keep the same dimensions. However, when turning it to a background and switch to repeat, it gives that message that it will return to clamp mode as is NPOT. Is there a way i can bypass this to make a parallax background?? If so please explain lol :D
