Question by brmusic · Sep 18, 2013 at 06:56 PM · arrayimportexportfile

How do I read/write an array for script use?

Hi!

I am new to Unity and and C#, and I have been trolling the forums/interwebs for an answer to this, but can't find it. I need to import and write to 2d arrays. I would like to use them to track player data including location information of enemies, etc. I am not even sure where to start. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks! Charles

You mean like to a disk file? Stand alone?

Sorry for the slow response. The email got buried. Yes, like a int or real variable 2d spreadsheet. I know c# can handle arrays with different values, but I want to know how to read and write to some file to then use later.

Hope that makes sense...

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304430 or http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/ezwyzy7b.aspx or any other resource you can find. Just search for something like "C# read write file example" or something along those lines.
