Question by Vaycant · Dec 01, 2013 at 05:38 AM · animationmecanimlegacy

Animation must be marked as Legacy, however there is no way to do so.

I created an animation using Unity's built in animation system. When I put it in my Animation component, it spits out a warning saying that I must convert it to Legacy. So I click on my animation in the project panel, where it should bring up the option to press Rig>Legacy. However, there are no other tabs but one I am not familiar with. Here's what it looks like:alt text

So this brings me to my question: How can I convert it to Legacy so that it will work properly?

Youcant set the Legacy option on the animation file itself, this is set on the character that plays those animations.

I am having this issue as well... what character?

I'm just trying to animate some simple planes, no rigs or character. Where does one set it to Legacy if that's the case? It's kind of frustrating, seems like there are more steps to just animate something simple compared to Legacy animation pre-4.3

There is a rig tab on the model you are animating, where you have to set the animation type to "legacy". It is stupid, and the error message is incorrect, and the manual is no help. However just duplicating an old animation clip- created before 4.3- and modifying that ins$$anonymous$$d of creating a new one works fine.
