Mocap in Mecanim

How can I prepare mocap animation for Mecanim? Now I create biped in 3dsmax, import an animation, export it into FBX, but animation isn't going to be put into controller. Tried to the same stuff with motionbuilder, but it's the same. Unity sees the animation, but I can't do any action with that.
