Chrome and Webplayer Builds
I have a project that is being deployed to iPad, Webplayer, and Stand-alone. All builds are working just fine. However, when I play the web player in Chrome only, it lags hard core. Can't switch tabs, game feels very sluggish. The QA has encountered this issue numerously with Chrome but no other browser. I ensured that anytime I am loading data that I am using http instead of https (which made it even worse). It consumes more ram and processing time on a variety of machines (all different specs).
Is there a blatant bug with Unity and Chrome or what? Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can improve Chrome performance? I appreciate the time and feedback. Thanks!
I haven't experienced any problems with Chrome and Unity web builds on three different Windows 7 test machines. Are you using the latest stable Chrome build and Unity web player? Is it isolated to an OS (e.g., $$anonymous$$acOS)? Are you running any extensions that might be conflicting?
I have experienced this issue with Windows 7 and XP. I have ensured Chrome and Unity Plugins are up to date. I noticed that the machines have lower RA$$anonymous$$ and graphics cards compared to the dev machines but well over the $$anonymous$$ specs from Unity. Our game is really simple and doesn't require a lot of resources. The game gets great FPS stand alone, iPad, and other browsers except Chrome. Chrome is not using any other plugins.
Thanks anyways, I appreciate the ideas...just a very bizarre issue.
